Jan Nepomucký patron of reconciliation

The starting point in examining the involvement of Christians among displaced Germans after The Second World War in the process of post-war reconciliation and establishing cooperation between war-divided peoples of Bohemia and Germans, in the field of cultural and scientific cooperation. Notable achievements included travelling exhibitions to mark 250 years since the beatification, 250 years since the canonization and 600 years since the martyr's death of St. John of Nepomuk. The exhibitions document the scope of Ackermann Gemeinde and Adalbert Stifter Verein from 1947 to the Velvet Revolution of 1989.

Canonisation of Saint Thomas of Aquin

Canonization of Saint Thomas Aquinas Abstract This thesis inquires into the canonization process of Thomas Aquinas, in relation to specific circumstances and general usage of the era on the field of canonizing saints. While at the grave of the reverend master, miracles were produced and the popular cult was rising, on western universities, a doctrinal dispute has flared up which touched Thomas' doctrine, as well. The case has not be resolved untill nearly fifty years, when the pope John XXII has shown interest in canonizing one important personality of Dominican order. The choice fell on Thomas. The minor friars, protected by the roman king Louis IV the Bavarian, oposed but the pope got his purpose through, and so Thomas' learning became the leading stream in theology and thinking. The aim of this thesis is to approach period specificities of the cult of saints and canonization processes, to outline a brief history of Thomas' way to canonization and following occurrences, and to try to figure out broader context of the process, evaluating the importance of particular aspects at the same time. The thesis is based on canonization documents and relies on relevant sources and specialized literature. Canonization of Saint Louis

This Bachelor's thesis focuses on the process of canonization of the Louis IX of France. Although king Louis earned the reputation of saint during his lifetime and canonization process began soon after his death, the case proceeded slowly unexpectedly. A major impact in this process played high politics. The turning point came when Pope Boniface VIII. needed achieve a peace with Louis's grandson, the king Philip IV of France. The process was then closed in 1297 by canonization of Louis, but a final reconciliation has not contributed. The aim of the study is to analyze the canonical process of Louis IX and political influences which influenced him, thus the period 1270-1297. The thesis is based on the canonization documents and relies on relevant sources and literature. Beatification and canonization of Joan of Arc as an inspiration of art

St. Joan of Arc is an important figure not only French, but also the history of the Church and also personality whose life and death have left its mark in European art. The aim of this work is to collect the reasons for the beatification and canonization of Joan of Arc and also explain why Joan of Arc was beatified and canonized almost 500 years after his death. It points out the importance of this saint, is the last part of the thesis devoted to works of art inspired by the figure of Joan of Arc, which will be presented primarily in relation to the historical-political events on the Czech territory.

The Present Course of the Proces of Beatification 14- Franciscan Brothers of Our Lady of the Snou in Prague

The work considers the history of beatificational process of 14 venerable Franciscan sufferers from the Panna Marie Sněžná church in Prague from the year 1611. There lived a community of Franciscan, who came from several states of Europe in the time of Rudolf II. reign. They made there a community of service and prayer. By attack of army from Passau in November 1611 were these brethren killed by Protestants and poor people. The monastery and church were destroyed. Gradually was the convent restored and new monkery came. The bretherns started to gather background for beatificational process of their killed brethrens. The process started in 1677 first, then in 1698 there was a second process and the next process was in 1947. Because of the lack of financial resources and beacause of the political changes were all processes stopped. The last process which started in 1994, still proceeds.
